Modern day appliances are able to let you know when something is going wrong by displaying an error code when a fault is detected.

F10 – unused error code.

Seen only on top-loading Hotpoint washing machines, and indicates a faulty drum lock sensor. 

 

This code is displayed to let you know you haven’t closed the door to your washing machine properly. If you find the door is stuck it could also indicate there is an issue with the door lock mechanism, and you’ll need to call in an engineer. 

 

This error code shows that there is an internal data error and some or all of the display functions aren’t working on your washing machine.
